Jim Guy Tucker may need a liver transplant to treat a progressive liver diseace that lead to his hospitalization at the Maya Clinic this week, a doctor said yesterday. Dr. Patrick Kamath said Tucker, 50, has primary sclerosing cholangitis, a rare condition theat slowly narrows all the bile ducts within and outside the liver, damaging the organ. A liver transplant is the only treatment for the disease.
